You Need to Sell Your Idea

Many good ideas compete for attention and funding (remember the 3000:1 ratio). So, your first job is to be the chief salesperson for your idea. You can't wait for people to come looking for you, and when they meet you, you can't expect them to intuitively see the value in your idea.

So, you have to network, network, and network with the right people. Attend industry forums, entrepreneurial fairs, venture capital forums, and so on. Pitch your idea to as many peoplse as possible. In the business world, there's a saying that "You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find the princess." So, get out your lip balm and be prepared to meet and present your idea to many different people before you find one who values what you've created.
